Senior Principal Foundry Engineer - Product Engineering

About the role

The External Wafer Manufacturing team partners with external foundries to secure stable chip supply for NXP business lines. This senior position drives yield enhancement for lead products during new technology introductions and foundry transfers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop yield monitoring methodologies and infrastructure for automated tracking and analysis.
• Collaborate with NXP technology and product teams to create yield enhancement strategies for new technology introductions.
• Assess corporate yield needs, influence internal and external resources, and standardise best‑known methods across technology platforms.
• Interact with Asian semiconductor foundries to achieve targeted yield improvements.

Required profile

• Minimum M.S. in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 10 years of semiconductor experience in yield enhancement or a similar area.
• Fluency in spoken Mandarin for regular interaction with Mandarin‑speaking suppliers.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of yield enhancement techniques and data analysis.
• Experience with failure analysis methods.
• Good knowledge of SoC architecture and product test patterns.
• Familiarity with yield management systems, coding languages, and database structures.
