Senior Principal Piping Engineer

About the role

kbr is hiring a Senior Principal Piping Engineer in Singapore. The role covers offshore piping engineering, including FPSO layout design, stress engineering and pipe support, and involves producing design deliverables and reviewing 3D models.

Key responsibilities

• Familiarise yourself with offshore piping materials, stress engineering, platform and FPSO layout design, material handling, piping and pipe support design, and safety requirements.
• Perform 3D model reviews according to project requirements.
• Prepare piping inputs for project proposals and estimate work and CTR.
• Produce piping deliverables such as design calculations, specifications, procedures, analyses, progress reports, bid evaluations, study reports and third-party submissions.
• Apply design codes, legislative requirements and current good engineering practices.
• Understand client needs, identify design parameters and problems, and develop and implement solutions.
• Carry out inter-discipline and discipline QA/QC and engineering compliance checks on your own work and that of junior engineers.
• Review and manage project and general specifications, engineering procedures and engineering policies.
• Ensure efficient production of project deliverables and take responsibility for all deliverables in your section delivered to the client.
• Assist the Department Manager in discipline-related activities and share work with other centres.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical, Materials or Chemical Engineering with 15 years of experience.
• Relevant offshore platform and FPSO piping engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience as Lead Piping Engineer on small-sized FPSO or offshore platform projects; lead experience on a few mid-level offshore projects is an added advantage.
• Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and coordinate well with piping materials, stress and layout teams and other disciplines.
