Senior Principal, Smart Manufacturing & AI - Procurement & Cost

About the role

Micron is hiring a Senior Principal for its Smart Manufacturing & AI (SMAI) function, reporting to the Senior Director. The role leads cost transformation and AI-enabled cost reduction across procurement and manufacturing, and builds a team of I4.0 Leaders, Managers, Analysts and Data Scientists.

Key responsibilities

• Drive coordinated smart manufacturing solutions across Engineering, Procurement and Manufacturing, with a focus on cost optimisation
• Identify cost reduction opportunities using AI-enabled tools and advanced analytics, and turn them into initiatives with a clear savings and efficiency roadmap
• Establish before/after measurement frameworks covering cost, cycle time and productivity, and lead cost transformation initiatives
• Build, prioritise and operationalise a portfolio of AI and Generative AI use cases in spend and commodity intelligence, supplier intelligence and contract analytics
• Pilot and scale AI and GenAI use cases, embedding them into category managers' and analysts' daily workflows
• Partner with business leaders to drive the enterprise Procurement & Cost AI roadmap
• Communicate complex strategies and insights clearly to stakeholders at all levels

Required profile

• Masters' degree or equivalent experience, with at least 15 years of experience in areas such as Finance, Procurement or Manufacturing
• Proven hands-on delivery of cost transformation with quantified, executive-reported savings
• Experience managing senior stakeholders and strong communication skills
• Experience building and deploying AI and GenAI use cases for cost and procurement, with measurable dollar and FTE-efficiency impact
• Solid understanding of semiconductor cost solutions is highly desirable
