Senior Privacy Counsel – APAC

About the role

Adyen is seeking a Senior Privacy Counsel to lead its privacy programme across the Asia‑Pacific region from its Singapore office. You will work closely with the Global DPO Office in Amsterdam and New York to adapt the company’s global privacy framework to the fast‑evolving regulatory landscape of APAC.

Key responsibilities

• Provide pragmatic, business‑aligned privacy advice to product, engineering, commercial, HR and corporate teams in APAC.
• Adapt and extend Adyen’s global privacy policies to meet local requirements, establishing a scalable privacy baseline across APAC jurisdictions.
• Guide compliance with major regimes such as Singapore’s PDPA, India’s DPDPA, Japan’s APPI, Australia’s Privacy Act and Hong Kong’s PDPO.
• Manage cross‑border data transfer, data‑localisation and consent‑flow issues, coordinating with regional product and engineering stakeholders.
• Support incident response, data‑governance and AI‑governance initiatives, and liaise with regulators when required.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with several years of experience in data‑privacy or data‑protection law.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret complex privacy regulations and translate them into practical business processes.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, with a strategic mindset.
• Experience working in a multinational technology or fintech environment is a plus.
