Senior Process Engineer (R&D)

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions for semiconductors and advanced displays, is hiring a Senior Process Engineer (R&D) in Singapore. The role involves designing and running difficult process engineering experiments, characterizing systems and solving complex process problems, with limited supervision. The work location is Science Park II, moving to the Tampines office from April 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Design, collect data, analyze and compile reports on a variety of difficult process engineering experiments, within safety guidelines
• Perform hardware characterization on a variety of difficult systems, within safety guidelines
• Troubleshoot complex problems, perform root cause analysis and resolve difficult process engineering issues
• Generate internal and external documentation for products, presentations and technical reports
• Interact with customers to resolve process engineering issues and problems with limited supervision
• Measure film properties and interpret data
• Identify, select and work with vendors and suppliers with limited supervision
• Implement new technology, products and analytical instrumentation

Required profile

• PhD or Master's degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or Physics or a related field
• Research focus in semiconductors is an added advantage
• Relevant experience in semiconductor process development
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Problem-solving attitude with determination and a quality mindset
