Senior Project Manager – Government IT Projects

About the role

The Senior Project Manager will lead large‑scale government IT projects for NCS, a leading AI technology services provider. You will be accountable for delivering solutions on time, within budget and to the required quality standards while coordinating cross‑functional teams and external partners.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse and document project requirements by engaging users, managers and architects across a distributed organisation.
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, risk registers, milestones and deliverables in collaboration with business stakeholders.
• Drive daily project execution, monitoring schedule, budget, resources and quality, and manage scope changes through a formal change‑control process.
• Coordinate integration of hardware, software, testing, application development, migration and data conversion activities.
• Escalate issues such as overruns, scope creep or resource constraints to the Project Director or Service Delivery Director.
• Negotiate with vendors, manage contracts and subcontractors, and ensure adequate resources throughout the project lifecycle.
• Maintain clear communication with customers, handling change requests, prioritising work and providing status updates.
• Identify opportunities for service expansion, support pre‑sale activities and collaborate with account managers.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing large, complex IT projects for government or public‑sector clients.
• Strong ability to define scope, control changes and manage risks in a structured environment.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, including negotiation with vendors and customers.
• Demonstrated capability to lead cross‑functional teams and deliver projects on schedule and budget.
• Experience in post‑implementation evaluation and performance review.
