Senior Public Health Officer (Food and Vector Diseases Division)

About the role

The Food and Vector Borne Diseases Division of the Singapore Government is recruiting a Senior Public Health Officer or Public Health Officer. You will protect the health of Singaporeans by reducing the burden of communicable diseases through evidence-based policy, prevention and control programmes, epidemiological surveillance and timely outbreak response.

Key responsibilities

• Formulate, implement, monitor and review prevention and control strategies for food and vector-borne diseases
• Carry out epidemiological investigations and manage outbreaks of food and vector-borne diseases
• Develop and run disease surveillance programmes for food and vector-borne diseases
• Provide technical subject-matter expertise on food and vector-borne diseases
• Manage and administer programmes

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification from a recognised discipline, preferably in life sciences, medicine or nursing
• Postgraduate degree in Public Health, Epidemiology or equivalent
• 2-3 years' experience in public health is an advantage
• Willingness to work beyond office hours, especially during outbreaks, and to stay up to date on new developments in communicable diseases
