Senior Repair Development Team Leader

About the role

The Senior Repair Development Team Leader is a people leader responsible for developing, industrializing and supporting repair technologies for the Gas Power business globally. Working in the AMRT (Advanced Manufacturing & Repair Technology) Repair Development team, you lead the industrialization of processes around the global repair network to deliver quality and productivity.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team of Special Process Engineers to develop new manufacturing and repair process technology that helps component teams implement repair strategies or meet factory NPI requirements.
• Solve technical problems and work across cross-functional teams to resolve them.
• Ensure development processes are transferred successfully and validate repair service centers' qualifications and certifications for their repair procedures.
• Enable the Engineering Team to design, analyze or evaluate projects using sound engineering principles while following business standards and product/program requirements.
• Monitor and communicate project status and business issues, and prepare recovery plans when projects face impediments.
• Maintain deep knowledge of processes and products to choose the right methods for each application.
• Document technical data consistently with engineering policies and procedures.
• Support continuous improvement and work with supply chain, component teams and productivity departments to find improvement opportunities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent engineering degree, or equivalent experience.
• At least 10 years of experience in process or product development.
• Strong understanding of repair technologies such as machining, joining, coatings, inspection, robotics, automation or surface preparation.
• Good understanding of lean methodology.
• Willingness to travel at least 10% of the time.
