Senior Research Fellow – Computational Electromagnetism & Nanophotonics

About the role

The School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Nanyang Technological University seeks a Senior Research Fellow to lead cutting‑edge computational studies in electromagnetism and nanophotonics. The role focuses on developing ab‑initio theory and software for extreme ultraviolet (EUV) light generation.

Key responsibilities

• Computationally solve electrodynamics problems involving electron‑photon and electron‑matter interactions in the EUV regime.
• Design and implement high‑performance software using C++ and Python for novel electromagnetic phenomena.
• Formulate new theories of EUV generation derived from Maxwell’s equations and quantum electrodynamics.
• Publish research in high‑impact journals and present at international conferences.
• Assist the principal investigator with grant writing and supervise graduate and undergraduate students.
• Provide logistical support for laboratory operations related to the project.

Required profile

• PhD in physics, mathematics, engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong background in electrodynamics simulation techniques.
• Proficiency in C++ and Python programming.
• Solid foundation in theoretical and mathematical physics, preferably quantum electrodynamics.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently under tight timelines and manage detailed technical tasks.
