Senior Research Fellow – Design Factory

About the role

The Senior Research Fellow (Design Factory) will lead innovative research projects that translate emerging technologies into commercially viable products. Working closely with faculty, industry partners, researchers and students, the role bridges technology, sustainability and market needs.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end development and productisation of solutions, including experimental design, prototype validation and commercialisation.
• Manage projects in AI, renewable energy, circular economy, sustainable materials and carbon‑reduction technologies, setting goals, monitoring milestones and ensuring timely delivery.
• Mentor research fellows, engineers and students, co‑supervising student projects and fostering a strong research pipeline.
• Develop strategic industry partnerships, secure research funding, and oversee facility planning, budgeting and compliance with safety regulations.

Required profile

• PhD with at least 10 years of relevant industry or research experience, or a Bachelor/Master with 15 years of professional experience.
• Proven track record in product management, business development and stakeholder engagement within fast‑paced environments.
• Strong analytical, project‑management and communication skills, with experience writing grant proposals and technical reports.
