Senior Research Fellow – Robotics & Machine Learning

About the role

The School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Nanyang Technological University seeks a Senior Research Fellow or Research Fellow to advance research in robotics and machine learning. The role focuses on developing data‑driven perception, adaptive control, sensor fusion, and safe human‑robot collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct cutting‑edge research on learning‑based robot perception, reinforcement‑learning control, multimodal sensor fusion, and human‑robot interaction.
• Publish results in top‑tier journals and conferences.
• Assist in preparing competitive CRP research grant proposals, including literature review and technical drafting.
• Collaborate with faculty, research staff, and graduate students on joint robotics and AI projects.
• Support supervision of graduate students and engage with industry or academic partners as needed.

Required profile

• PhD in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years of research experience in robotics or machine learning.
• Strong publication record in top‑tier venues, preferably as first author.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced research environment.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
