Senior Research Scientist (Power Electronics, Power Engineering)

About the role

The Energy Research Institute @ NTU (ERI@N), established in 2010, is a pan-university research institute focused on systems-level research for tropical megacities, covering the energy value chain from generation to end-use solutions. It is looking for a Senior Research Scientist to oversee the VFT-NTU IAF-ICP funding packages WP4 and WP5, managing, supervising and guiding the research teams so that work is completed on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Manage, supervise and guide the research teams in WP4 and WP5
• Ensure research outcomes meet the objectives of VFT
• Liaise with the management of the stakeholders
• Hold regular meetings with team members to keep work on schedule
• Help prepare RFQs for procurement of components and equipment
• Track and manage project expenses and record the progress of WP4 and WP5

Required profile

• PhD (or equivalent) in power electronics, power engineering or a related field
• At least 20 years of relevant experience in research management and hands-on work in power electronics, power engineering and energy storage
• Familiarity with industrial product standards and certifications and grid connection codes of different countries
• International experience and a strong network of contacts in the region
