Senior Software Design Engineer (C++)

About the role

The Senior Software Design Engineer will lead the development of machine‑control applications for automated semiconductor equipment. Working closely with hardware teams and end‑users, you will create robust, high‑performance software that drives production efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement control software for semiconductor manufacturing machines on Windows platforms.
• Develop new process‑control modules and integrate OEM components into a unified system.
• Produce clear documentation, flowcharts and well‑commented code to support maintenance and knowledge transfer.
• Write optimized, testable, and efficient C++ code following the full software development life‑cycle.
• Analyse system requirements, evaluate feasibility, and propose coding solutions.
• Improve equipment performance through system analysis and procedural recommendations.
• Debug existing code, refine features, and support on‑site installation and field upgrades.
• Tailor tools and processes to address customer feedback and issue resolution.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechatronics, Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of professional C++ development experience on Windows (XP or later).
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective team player with good communication skills.

Required skills

• C++, VC++, MFC, SQL, object‑oriented programming.
• Multi‑threaded control software development and equipment connectivity standards.
• GUI design, familiarity with SEMI SECS/GEM, C# and WPF (advantageous).
• Hardware interfacing experience with servo, stepper motion controllers, analog devices and high‑speed I/O.
• Windows application development and software debugging.
