Senior Software Engineer, AI Infrastructure

About the role

Airwallex, the AI-native financial operating system used by more than 675,000 businesses, is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for its AI Infrastructure team in Singapore. You will build and operate goal-oriented AI agents that automate SRE, DevOps and DBA workflows across the company's global infrastructure, and define the technical vision for how AI agents can transform infrastructure operations.

Key responsibilities

• Build and operate AI agents that automate incident investigation, infrastructure provisioning, deployment orchestration, database operations and capacity management.
• Design reliable agent architectures with planning, reasoning, tool use, error recovery, safety guardrails, auditability and human-in-the-loop escalation.
• Integrate agents with Kubernetes, Terraform, AWS, GCP, Aliyun, databases, monitoring platforms and CI/CD pipelines through well-designed tool interfaces.
• Define evaluation frameworks and metrics such as task completion rate, accuracy, time to resolution and escalation rate.
• Partner with SRE, DevOps and platform engineering teams to turn operational pain points into agent capabilities.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience building agentic AI systems that plan, reason and execute multi-step tasks using LLMs, including agent-loop design, tool-use orchestration and agent state and memory management.
• Strong system design skills and excellent communication skills in a global, cross-functional environment.
• Comfortable owning the roadmap, making decisions with incomplete information and working across time zones.

Required skills

• Backend language such as Python, Go, Java or Kotlin.
• Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP or Aliyun), Kubernetes, Terraform and CI/CD.
• Preferred: agent frameworks such as LangGraph, CrewAI or AutoGen, and LLM APIs such as OpenAI or Anthropic.
• Preferred: observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog or the ELK stack, and database administration or automation.
• Preferred: SRE practices such as incident response, runbooks, postmortems and SLOs/SLIs.
