Senior Software Engineer (Python)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Python Software Engineer to design, build and maintain high‑performing services and integrations that support our business teams. You will work across the full product lifecycle, from early analysis through deployment and production support, within a collaborative, fast‑moving environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build secure, high‑performing, cost‑aware Python services and integrations.
• Translate business needs into technical approaches, estimates and delivery plans.
• Define technical specifications and guide junior engineers and external developers.
• Deliver features end‑to‑end, from implementation through deployment and production support.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to shape scope, priorities and technical feasibility.
• Improve reliability and maintainability through testing, monitoring and automation.
• Create clear technical documentation supporting development and operations.
• Communicate progress, risks and trade‑offs with the project team.

Required profile

• Proficiency in Python with proven experience delivering production‑grade services.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS and designing or operating cloud infrastructure.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases.
• Exposure to the financial services domain or regulated environments.
• Problem‑solving mindset with ability to translate ambiguity into deliverables.
• Stakeholder management experience partnering with business users and engineers.
• Ownership mentality with strong prioritisation and follow‑through.
• Clear written and spoken communication.
