Senior Solution Architect

About the role

The Senior Solution Architect will lead the definition and delivery of cutting‑edge air traffic solutions for Thales’ Airspace Mobility Solutions business. Working within the ATM/UTM domain, the role ensures that technical proposals meet customer needs while aligning with Thales’ product and system strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Define and propose innovative technical solutions that satisfy customer requirements and comply with Thales’ product/system technical strategy.
• Analyse architectural and technical choices to achieve optimal trade‑offs between requirements, cost, risk and performance.
• Explore alternative architectural concepts, conduct trade‑off analyses and document decisions with clear justification.
• Perform early validation through modelling and proof‑of‑concept activities to de‑risk the solution.
• Develop architectural viewpoints, define system breakdown structures and lead interface definition across internal and external contributors.
• Describe system behaviour using functional flows, identify dependencies between components and specify Technical Performance Measurements (TPMs).
• Support validation of TPMs throughout the project lifecycle and produce required architecture artefacts.

Required profile

• Proven experience in solution architecture for complex, safety‑critical systems such as Air Traffic Management or Unmanned Traffic Management.
• Ability to work across the full solution lifecycle, from bid preparation to project delivery.
