Senior Staff Nurse II - Dialysis Clinic

About the role

Fresenius Medical Care is hiring a Senior Staff Nurse II for its dialysis clinic. The nurse supports the Nurse Manager and deputizes in the Manager's absence, leading and managing the clinic's operations. The role delivers holistic care, works with healthcare and allied professionals to improve outcomes for dialysis patients, helps with staff professional development and may involve ad hoc projects from Head Office.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and evaluate patient care in the haemodialysis setting, including pre-, during and post-dialysis assessments
• Follow FMC policies and work instructions, and report abnormal blood test results to the Medical Director
• Educate patients on diet, fluids, medications and blood pressure, and encourage adjustment to chronic heart disease
• Monitor the water treatment system and dialysate fluid, keep equipment clean and safe, and maintain accurate records in TDMS/EuClid
• Support patients and relatives, protect patient privacy and take part in quality improvement by reporting incidents and hazards
• Help develop staff through continuing education and take part in annual clinical competency assessments

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Nursing, registered with the Singapore Nursing Board
• Minimum 5 years as a Registered Nurse in Singapore (foreign applicants); minimum 3 years of haemodialysis experience
• Advanced haemodialysis training is a plus
• Certified and valid Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
• Good command of English and a local language preferred

Required skills

• Understanding of quality improvement processes and risk management
• Effective communication and ability to give and receive nursing reports
• Computer literacy; knowledge of MS Word and Excel is an advantage
