Senior Technical Resolution Engineer

About the role

As a key member of the Advanced Manufacturing and Repair Technology (AMRT) organization, the Senior Technical Resolution Engineer solves technical problems on hot gas path turbine rotating or static components within the repair development team. The role is leadership-oriented, focusing on resolving complex technical challenges, streamlining cross-functional collaboration and enabling the problem-solving capability of the regional repair network.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as a senior technical integrator and problem-solving lead, carrying out technical reviews and aligning resolutions
• Articulate high-complexity technical challenges clearly to stakeholders at all levels
• Develop and communicate a strategy that directs cross-functional teams toward closure
• Coordinate resolution activities across NRI engineering, special process engineering, repair qualification engineering and repair shop teams
• Act as focal point for technical challenges from "Andon" tickets and run "Forge" project activities
• Engage with Technical Leaders and Controlled Title Holders to promote technical rigor and risk management

Required profile

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Materials Engineering, Materials Science or a related field from an accredited institution
• At least 15 years of engineering experience, preferably in manufacturing, services, repair or design
• Willingness to travel to repair centers, customer sites and other locations globally about 10% of the time

Desired characteristics

• Experience in industrial gas turbine design, repair or manufacturing, with a background in special processes such as machining, joining, coating and inspection
• Lean training or equivalent quality training
• Strong mechanical design and analytical background
• Proven project management track record, mentorship of less experienced colleagues and ability to identify and integrate best practices
