Senior Technician, Physical Failure Analysis (PFA)

About the role

Micron Technology, Inc., a leader in memory and storage solutions, is hiring a Senior Technician for its Physical Failure Analysis (PFA) team at Fab 10A. The role involves performing electrical and physical failure analysis on advanced packaging products to identify the root causes of defects and failures.

Key responsibilities

• Perform electrical and physical failure analysis on advanced packaging products using advanced failure analysis tools.
• Prepare samples, including cross-sectioning, decapsulation, polishing and microscopy inspection, as required.
• Operate and maintain analytical equipment such as optical microscopes, SEM, EDX, FIB, X-ray, C-SAM and other failure analysis tools.
• Document failure analysis findings and write FA reports in a timely manner.
• Comply with laboratory safety requirements, equipment operating procedures, quality management systems and 6S housekeeping rules.
• Take part in continuous improvement initiatives to improve laboratory efficiency, analytical capability and turnaround time, including testing and sharing AI-enabled enhancements.

Required profile

• NITEC, Higher NITEC or Diploma in Engineering, or equivalent.
• At least 1-2 years of experience in semiconductor failure analysis.
• Fundamental knowledge of semiconductor wafer fabrication and advanced packaging processes.
• Self-motivated, proactive and able to communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
• Able to work independently and collaboratively with other teams.

Required skills

• Hands-on experience with SEM/EDX, FIB, X-ray, C-SAM and sample preparation tools.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and technical report preparation.
• Commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.
