Service & Installation Technician

About the role

The Service & Installation Technician will perform on‑site servicing, repairs, installations and sea trials for marine and technical equipment. You will work closely with customers to understand site requirements and ensure all work complies with technical manuals and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, repairs, installations, inspections, testing, commissioning and sea trials for marine equipment.
• Verify completed work against technical manuals, installation guidelines and acceptance standards.
• Maintain accurate project and service documentation, including Job Safety Analyses, Work Method Statements and Permit to Work records.
• Coordinate equipment, tools, materials and resources needed for service and installation activities.
• Collaborate with customers to clarify site needs such as cabling, welding, hot work and related activities.
• Escalate additional customer or project requirements to managers and engineers.
• Support preparation of technical drawings, designs and documentation based on customer specifications.
• Detect, document and report product or service quality issues, handling inspection and test equipment appropriately.
• Complete service reports, respond to technical inquiries and determine suitable equipment installation locations.

Required profile

• ITE or Diploma in Electronics, Communication, Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 2–3 years of relevant experience preferred; candidates with less experience may be considered if they have a solid technical foundation.
• Technical knowledge or hands‑on experience in electronics, electrical, systems engineering, equipment servicing, installation or inspection.
• Experience in the marine industry, electronics/electrical manufacturing or field support environments is advantageous.
• Strong willingness to learn, good troubleshooting and documentation skills, and ability to respond to urgent technical situations.
