Signalling Design Engineer Intern

About the role

Hitachi Rail Singapore is looking for a Signalling Design Engineer intern in Central Singapore, working full time on a hybrid basis. The intern supports the design and documentation of railway signalling systems and works alongside engineers and customers.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in producing wiring books, scheme plans, control tables, I/O bitmaps and block designs.
• Review and propose hardware components and maintain the Bill of Materials.
• Produce design documentation including hardware system requirements.
• Make sure hardware design and functional documents are issued and controlled according to company processes.
• Analyse results from site testing and support problem solving for design errors or test failures, which may involve visiting trackside, stations or trains.
• Present and defend technical solutions to peers and possibly the customer.

Required profile

• Currently studying Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• A positive learning attitude.
