Software Engineer – VSS Client

About the role

Jobline is hiring a software engineer to develop and maintain thick client applications and APIs for its VSS client, working closely with project teams, stakeholders and onsite personnel. Shortlisted candidates will be offered a 1-year agency contract.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain thick client applications and APIs using C# and WPF.
• Design, develop and optimise database solutions using Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL).
• Prepare, execute and review test plans, test cases and test reports, and support SIT, OSAT and production deployment.
• Configure project laptops and workstations for testing and production environments, and troubleshoot software, database and integration issues.
• Prepare technical documentation and authority sign-off documents.
• Enhance VSS client functionality, including the Customized Alarm Manager and Live View Preset Views authorization and management.
• Deliver upcoming deliverables: OSAT for the VSS client, and Phase 2 enhancements of the Alarm Manager and Live View Preset Views.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field.
• Relevant software development experience in enterprise or mission-critical systems.

Required skills

• C# .NET development and WPF for thick client applications.
• API development and integration.
• Microsoft SQL Server, including database design, query optimisation and troubleshooting.
• Software testing methodologies and test documentation.
• Familiarity with system deployment, application configuration and production support.
• Preferred: video streaming protocols, Milestone VMS, video surveillance or command-and-control systems, and experience supporting SIT/UAT/OSAT or site deployment.
