Software Engineering Manager II - Transaction Platform

About the role

Grab is looking for a Software Engineering Manager II for its Transaction Platform team in Singapore, reporting to the Head of Engineering, Transaction Platform. The team owns the end-to-end transaction lifecycle for merchant partners, including order, finance, insights and feedback, which are among the most-used features in the merchant app. You will lead a team of 10+ engineers building reliable, scalable systems, balancing hands-on technical leadership with people management.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement highly reliable, scalable services for the Transaction Platform, evaluating technology stacks to improve performance and scalability.
• Partner with product, design, analytics and data science leaders to build the product roadmap, set merchant-focused metrics and design experiments.
• Set the engineering strategy within the team, mentor junior and senior engineers and grow into broader technical leadership.
• Take part in code and design reviews to maintain high development standards.
• Take part in interview loops to help hire top engineers.

Required profile

• 5+ years of software engineering experience in a distributed systems environment, with a track record of designing and implementing large-scale, highly available online services.
• At least 2+ years of experience as a successful software engineering manager, with a hands-on role in tech solutioning.
• Experience engaging with AI tools and emerging technologies to improve productivity and workflows.
• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field.

Required skills

• Strong fundamentals in algorithms and data structures, and a strong understanding of system performance and scaling.
• Proficiency in any programming language and willingness to work in Golang.
