Solutions Architect – Payments

About the role

OCBC is looking for a Solutions Architect to lead the design and delivery of end‑to‑end payment capabilities. You will shape the future of banking technology by creating modern, scalable payment solutions that meet regulatory, security and performance requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead architecture for payment initiation, processing, clearing, settlement, exception management, reconciliation and reporting across domestic and cross‑border flows.
• Design and drive payment modernization initiatives, including current‑state assessments, target architecture definition, migration road‑maps and cut‑over strategies.
• Produce architecture artefacts such as context diagrams, component diagrams, integration patterns and security considerations.
• Define detailed designs using domain‑driven design, API‑first integration, event‑driven architecture, micro‑services granularity and reusable platform capabilities.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to provide hands‑on guidance on complex design, integration, performance, reliability and production issue resolution.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in technology solutioning, solution architecture or application architecture, preferably in banking and payment systems.
• At least 3 years of hands‑on experience with micro‑services, Java, Spring Boot, messaging (MQ/Kafka), container platforms (Kubernetes/OpenShift) and databases.
• Strong understanding of payment lifecycles, domestic and cross‑border payment rails, real‑time payments, SWIFT, ISO 20022 and related use cases.
• Proven ability to lead solution design, assess risks, communicate decisions clearly and influence cross‑functional stakeholders.
