Specialist, IT Operations

About the role

NTU’s Centre of IT Services is looking for an experienced Specialist, IT Operations to manage server‑related services for the Nanyang Business School. You will ensure that infrastructure runs smoothly, complies with university policies, and supports a wide range of academic and administrative units.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee infrastructure and system operations for Nanyang Business School, ensuring seamless program delivery.
• Implement infrastructure changes, maintenance routines, and replacement plans.
• Support server operations for graduate programmes, research centres, alumni, career services and corporate communications.
• Manage installation, budgeting, and costing for infrastructure upgrades and maintenance.
• Monitor service‑level agreements, develop objectives, and drive continuous improvement.
• Handle server management, storage area, vendor coordination, file‑server folder management, patches and security compliance.
• Maintain CITS audit and policy requirements and work with vendors on security issues.

Required profile

• Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience in server and system operations.
• Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper‑V).
• Familiarity with server security, backup and recovery, hardware maintenance, shared storage and enterprise networking.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
• Experience providing end‑user support for Windows and macOS environments.
