Staff Engineer, Chemical Systems (GFAC South Asia)

About the role

Micron is hiring a Staff Engineer for its GFAC South Asia chemical systems team at Fab 10A. As the regional chemical engineer, you will lead chemical system design for construction projects, give technical support and align business processes around operations and maintenance at front-end and back-end sites. You will also lead the design-for-construction team and bring operational and maintenance considerations into those projects.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert support on bulk and specialty chemical systems at each site, including on-site presence during critical failures.
• Lead chemical system design for construction projects and integrate operations and maintenance into them.
• Support global facility initiatives, including TPM implementation, SPC, conformance, SIPP, MOC and 8D problem solving, and drive variation reduction and energy optimisation for gas systems.
• Ensure consistent preventive and predictive maintenance programmes across the network, and benchmark equipment performance.
• Develop training and certification programmes, define metrics such as on-time PMs, MTTF and MTTR, and review FIPA/METS events to reduce chemical impact incidents.
• Work with construction and engineering teams on projects, review sustaining capital requests, and support Micron's sustainability programme.
• Integrate AI-assisted tools into engineering work and identify opportunities to use AI for maintenance and system monitoring.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent work experience.
• 8 years of facilities gas system engineering experience, with at least 4 years in the semiconductor industry.
• Experience in bulk and specialty chemical systems design, operation and maintenance in semiconductor manufacturing.
• Experience supporting engineering projects from concept through commissioning and operational support.
• Proven ability to solve problems across multi-functional, multi-cultural groups, multi-task and lead teams to meet deadlines.
