Staff Engineer GFAC South Asia - Chemical

About the role

Micron is hiring a Staff Engineer for its Global Facility Chemical (GFAC) program at Fab 10A in South Asia. As the regional chemical engineer, you will lead chemical system design for construction projects, give technical support and align business processes around operations and maintenance for the facility chemical systems at front-end and back-end sites. You will also lead the design-for-construction team and bring operational and maintenance considerations into those projects.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert support on the bulk and specialty chemical systems at each site, including on-site presence during critical failures.
• Lead chemical system design for construction projects and a global cross-functional team focused on operational excellence.
• Support global facility initiatives, including TPM implementation, variation reduction (SPC) and common methodologies such as SIPP, MOC and 8D problem solving.
• Drive cost reduction and energy optimisation for gas systems, and ensure consistent preventive and predictive maintenance programs across the network.
• Analyse and benchmark equipment performance, develop training and certification programs, and set metrics such as on-time PMs, MTTF and MTTR.
• Review FIPA/METS events, sustain capital requests, and support Micron's sustainability programs and best-in-class benchmarking.
• Integrate AI-assisted tools into engineering activities and identify opportunities to use AI for maintenance and system monitoring.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent work experience.
• 8 years of facilities chemical system engineering experience, with at least 4 years in the semiconductor industry.
• Experience in bulk and specialty chemical systems design, operation and maintenance in semiconductor manufacturing, and supporting engineering projects from concept through commissioning.
• Proven ability to solve problems across multi-functional, multi-cultural groups, multi-task and lead teams to meet deadlines.
