Staff Nurse – Haemodialysis

About the role

The Staff Nurse will deliver comprehensive patient care within a haemodialysis clinical setting. This role involves assessing patients before, during and after dialysis, educating them on self‑management, and ensuring safe, high‑quality treatment delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct pre‑, intra‑ and post‑dialysis clinical assessments to evaluate treatment effectiveness.
• Review blood test results and promptly report any abnormalities to the Medical Director.
• Educate patients on diet, fluid intake, medication adherence, and blood pressure management.
• Motivate patients to adjust to chronic haemodialysis (CHD) and support their emotional wellbeing.
• Monitor the water treatment system and dialysis fluid to guarantee safe therapy.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff in line with IPC and environmental policies.
• Ensure all equipment is functional, clean, and report defects through proper channels.
• Accurately record patient information in the Therapy Data Management System (TDMS) and EuClid Clinical Information system, respecting privacy policies.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives by reporting incidents, hazards, and improvement opportunities.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with a commitment to ongoing professional competence.
• Willingness to evaluate personal nursing practice and complete annual clinical competency assessments.
• Engagement in continuing education to stay current with renal care developments.
• Professional demeanor, adherence to dress code, and ability to maintain a positive image among colleagues and the public.

Required skills

• Proficiency with haemodialysis equipment.
• Experience using the Therapy Data Management System (TDMS).
• Experience using the EuClid Clinical Information system.
• Ability to interpret blood test results and apply findings to patient care.
