Staff Product Engineer

About the role

Flex is looking for a Staff Product Engineer based in Kallang, Singapore, to support its manufacturing teams in building great products. The role focuses on improving cost, quality and delivery, and works closely with customers, engineering and management.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with customers on product specifications, bill of materials, test methods, test software and design changes
• Work with management and engineering on manufacturing capabilities, production schedules and other production considerations
• Develop, evaluate and improve manufacturing and test methods for better yield and throughput, and set robust, repeatable process and test parameters
• Troubleshoot process and test issues by analysing root causes and coordinating corrective actions
• Maintain product-related process and test documentation
• Analyse workforce utilisation, space and workflow, and design equipment and workspace layouts
• Coordinate development, procurement, installation and calibration of test instruments and equipment, and equipment and process validations
• Use statistical methods to forecast manufacturing requirements
• Train production personnel on new products and design changes, and provide equipment maintenance and repair support
• Take part in cost reduction programmes, EHS and corporate social and environmental responsibility initiatives

Required profile

• Education in Manufacturing Engineering
• Knowledge of system box build
• Ability to read 2D drawings and component schematics
• English speaking; other languages desirable for a large customer base
• Customer-oriented attitude and good teamwork

Required skills

• PC literacy: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD and similar
• Basic knowledge of CAD systems
• Good technical and commercial communication skills
