Supervisor I, Technical Training

About the role

At Edwards Lifesciences, manufacturing teams create the tools, technologies and devices that support patients worldwide. This Supervisor I, Technical Training position provides first-line supervisory leadership for technical training activities and team performance.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise trainers, employees and training activities, including managing training materials and inventory, and assisting with delivery and collection of productivity, quality and training metrics
• Provide regular progress reports and training metrics to management and cross-functional stakeholders, and oversee and coach daily execution of trainer methods and tools
• Develop, plan and schedule screening, work trial and training activities (such as training room set-up) according to the Master Product Schedule and New Product Introduction needs
• Give feedback and conduct performance reviews of trainers and trainees, including resolving performance issues
• Take part in improvement projects, partner with engineering on investigations and corrective actions, and investigate non-conformances for review with engineering
• Prepare training records to ensure audit compliance

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a related field with 1 year of related experience, or a technical diploma with 3 years of supervisory experience, or an associate's degree with 3 years of supervisory experience
• Solid working knowledge of training-related methodologies and effectiveness measures
• Experience in the medical device industry preferred

Required skills

• Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite and working knowledge of an ERP system, preferably JDE
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts and Six Sigma
• Ability to lead teams, give coaching and feedback, and handle employee relations in partnership with HR
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and on cross-functional teams
