Supervisor II, Manufacturing

About the role

Edwards is looking for a Supervisor II, Manufacturing to supervise employees across manufacturing areas and keep operations running smoothly and continuously. The role covers two or more production areas, depending on their complexity.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise employees and manufacturing activities for the production of products and/or manufacturing processes, with knowledge of 2 or more production areas.
• Conduct performance reviews, including resolving performance issues, and ensure appropriate staffing for all positions.
• Account for staff productivity, quality and training metrics, and report progress and manufacturing metrics regularly to management and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Oversee work order scheduling and team performance metrics, and ensure staff is properly trained for their assigned work.
• Lead improvement projects, partner with engineering on investigations and corrective actions, run non-conformance investigations for engineering review, and ensure documentation is valid.
• Monitor raw material usage and availability, and track material and labour variances against established standards.
• Document owner for the assigned product line assembly procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree, or a diploma with 7 years of previous related experience including full personnel responsibility (hiring, termination, employee relations).
• 2 years of experience with an internship, or substantial technical knowledge in the assigned work area, plus experience in related manufacturing, quality and/or product development engineering beyond Supervisor I level.
• Experience in the medical device industry preferred.

Required skills

• Proven Microsoft Office Suite expertise and working knowledge of an ERP system, preferably JDE.
• Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma knowledge.
• Ability to analyse line and operation layout adjustments to improve efficiency, and to coach and lead teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Adherence to company rules, including pandemic protocols and environmental health and safety requirements.
