Tax Operations Analyst (12‑Month Contract)

About the role

Maybank Securities is looking for a motivated Analyst or Senior Analyst to support tax operations across Qualified Intermediary (QI), Qualified Derivatives Dealer (QDD), FATCA and CRS frameworks. This 12‑month contract is ideal for an early‑career professional seeking hands‑on experience in cross‑border tax compliance within a regulated financial services environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support day‑to‑day tax operations for QI, QDD, FATCA and CRS under senior guidance.
• Prepare and submit U.S. tax filings such as IRS Forms 1042, 1042‑S, 1099 and FATCA/CRS returns to IRAS.
• Validate data for withholding tax calculations, treaty benefit application and reporting accuracy.
• Assist with U.S. withholding processes (Chapters 3 & 4, Section 871(m), IRC §1446) and tax reconciliations.
• Track payments, credits and balances related to IRS 1042 filings and follow up on discrepancies.
• Collect, validate and maintain client tax documentation (W‑8, W‑9, W‑8IMY, CRS self‑certifications).
• Support QI periodic reviews, Responsible Officer certification and internal quality checks.

Required profile

• Early‑career or developing tax operations specialist.

• Ability to work collaboratively with senior team members, internal stakeholders and external counterparties.
