Technical Officer

About the role

The Technical Officer supports the Shift Engineer in ensuring smooth operation of the airport baggage handling system at BEUMER Group Singapore. Working on a 3‑shift roster, the role involves monitoring system performance, coordinating technicians, and handling fault resolution to keep baggage flow uninterrupted.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor the baggage handling system for faults and abnormal flow, reporting issues to the Shift Engineer.
• Dispatch technicians promptly to address system breakdowns and oversee their work on the shop floor.
• Coordinate baggage diversion during equipment failures to maintain uninterrupted processing.
• Ensure completion of corrective‑maintenance (CM) and preventive‑maintenance (PM) schedules.
• Verify that all tools and equipment are calibrated and safe for use.
• Assist the Shift Engineer with system troubleshooting, updates, and data analysis.
• Prepare and submit regular reports and statistics to management.

Required profile

• Diploma in an engineering‑related field.
• Willingness to work rotating three‑shift schedule and overtime as needed.
• Ability to obtain an airport pass; candidates with a Class 3 driving licence are a plus.
• Strong desire to learn and adapt in a restricted airport environment.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of SCADA systems (training provided).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications: Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
