Technical Officer, Maintenance (Mechanical)

About the role
We are seeking a Mechanical Technical Officer to support the operation and reliability of our power‑plant assets on Jurong Island. The role involves performing routine and defect‑driven maintenance, coordinating with contractors, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
Key responsibilities
- Execute routine and corrective maintenance tasks according to established maintenance plans.
- Monitor and coordinate external contractors performing on‑site maintenance.
- Contribute to the development and updating of asset maintenance strategies.
- Document all maintenance activities accurately and maintain records.
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes, regulations and workplace safety requirements.
- Plan, procure and manage spare parts inventory within budget constraints.
- Support plant operations safely, efficiently and in line with production targets.
- Assist in enforcing maintenance guidelines and best practices.
Required profile
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 3 years of hands‑on maintenance experience in power plants or related industries.
- Good knowledge of plant processes and operations.
- Self‑motivated, independent, analytical and able to work under pressure.
- Effective communicator and team player capable of collaborating across functions.
Required skills
- Maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of rotating equipment such as pumps, compressors, fans, blowers and gearboxes.
- Inspection, maintenance and repair of static equipment including heat exchangers, boilers, pressure vessels, storage tanks and piping systems.
- Gasket replacement, flange management and bolt torquing for leak‑free joints.
- Knowledge of gas/steam turbines, HRSG and water‑treatment plant equipment (advantageous).
- Familiarity with condition‑monitoring techniques and predictive‑maintenance tools.
- Basic understanding of electrical and instrumentation interfaces with mechanical systems.
