Technical Project Manager – IT Security

About the role

The Technical Project Manager – IT Security translates security priorities into structured initiatives and drives them to measurable outcomes. This technically‑oriented delivery role coordinates complex projects across security, infrastructure, cloud, networks, applications and external vendors, ensuring clear scope, milestones and operational readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end IT security projects from initiation through testing, transition and closure, defining scope, workstreams, milestones and acceptance criteria.
• Develop realistic project plans covering implementation, integration, migration, testing, cut‑over and operational readiness, and track delivery against agreed outcomes.
• Participate in technical discussions, understand architectures and dependencies, and coordinate delivery across architects, engineers, operations teams and vendors.
• Maintain an integrated view of concurrent security initiatives, manage sequencing, shared resources, risks and cross‑project dependencies.
• Drive delivery through influence, establish clear ownership, coordinate vendors, facilitate decisions and escalate issues as needed.
• Provide concise, decision‑oriented reporting on risks, issues, assumptions and project status to senior management.
• Ensure operational transition by defining support processes, monitoring, remediation and knowledge transfer before handover.

Required profile

• Substantial experience managing technically complex cybersecurity or technology projects in enterprise environments, coordinating engineers, architects, operations teams and vendors.
• Proven ability to manage technical dependencies across implementation, testing, transition and operational readiness, identifying and resolving delivery gaps.
• Technical fluency with enterprise technology and cybersecurity architectures, able to read designs and understand data flows across identity, endpoints, networks, cloud and applications.
• Relevant tertiary education in technology, engineering, cybersecurity or equivalent professional experience; certifications are advantageous but not mandatory.
