Technical Specialist (Technical Associate)

About the role

Becton, Dickinson and Company (BD), a global medical technology company, is hiring a Technical Specialist (Technical Associate) at its Tuas plant in Singapore. The role provides technical expertise to support manufacturing, covering machine enhancement, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of machines, project execution, accountability on production waste and quality of machine tool operations, and overall technician resource management.

Key responsibilities

• Execute and/or lead production output and machine enhancements
• Manage preventive maintenance effectively
• Facilitate meetings with engineers or subject matter experts to identify the root cause of deviations and ensure successful manufacturing
• Observe Good Manufacturing Practices and quality systems

Required profile

• Nitec or diploma in an engineering field
• 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience in preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs and maintenance of machines and equipment
• Working hours Monday to Friday, 7am to 4pm; overtime and day or night shifts as production needs change

Required skills

• Experience with automated machines such as Allen Bradley, Omron, Siemens and Delta V is an advantage
