Technologist - UPW and WWTP Systems

About the role

Micron Technology, Inc. is hiring a Facilities Technician for its Fab 10A site. The technician provides engineering support to oversee, plan and ensure the proper operation and maintenance of the Ultra-Pure Water (UPW) and Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) systems. The role offers exposure to the technology, accelerated training in a fast-paced environment and cross-functional work.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the operation, maintenance and monitoring of UPW and WWTP systems, keeping them efficient and within specified parameters
• Ensure quality control of water and wastewater systems, maintain regulatory compliance and carry out regular inspections
• Troubleshoot routine and non-routine problems to restore service after failures, and respond quickly to out-of-spec conditions and plant interruptions
• Identify issues and implement improvements to increase system stability and reliability
• Enforce safety compliance and government regulations, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and Permit to Work (PTP) procedures, risk assessments and PPE requirements
• Work with system engineers on environmental sustainability projects such as energy reduction, water conservation and waste recycling
• Liaise with contractors and vendors on corrective and preventive maintenance programs
• Perform in-house preventive and corrective maintenance according to SOPs, risk assessments and permit-to-work requirements
• Generate and update maintenance work orders and check inventory records in the Facility Management System (FMS)
• Apply Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) principles to reduce downtime and improve equipment efficiency

Required profile

• Diploma in Chemical or Environmental Engineering preferred
• Relevant experience in water or wastewater systems, or equivalent
