Test Systems Engineer - Test Excellence

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions for semiconductors and advanced displays, is hiring a Test Systems Engineer in Singapore. The role turns real-world failures and emerging risks into test solutions that prevent defects from reaching factories and customers, working across suppliers, engineering teams and quality groups.

Key responsibilities

• Identify test gaps using field failures, factory nonconformances, failure analysis, 8D findings, FMEA/FMECA risks and test data, then translate failure mechanisms into testable requirements.
• Define system-representative test coverage, including functional, parametric, stress, burn-in, thermal, RF, high-voltage, leak, particle and interlock tests.
• Evaluate legacy test methods and inherited limits against evidence, and own the test solution from concept through deployment.
• Establish correlation, repeatability, reproducibility, measurement capability, calibration and acceptance criteria, and deploy test systems at suppliers and factories.
• Maintain test effectiveness through preventive maintenance, calibration, out-of-tolerance response, configuration control and performance monitoring.
• Monitor quality indicators such as escapes, NCs and DMRs, and apply lessons learned to supplier test mandates, FMDs, FMEA/FMECA and design for testability.
• Lead complex initiatives across suppliers, factories, Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Supplier Engineering, NPI Quality, Product Quality & Reliability and business units, and build reusable requirements, methods and standards while mentoring other engineers.
