Therapy Assistant (Podiatry - Diabetic Foot Screening)

About the role

NUHS is hiring a Therapy Assistant for its Podiatry service, focused on diabetic foot screening. The role involves screening patients for risk factors, recognising diabetic foot conditions and referring them to the podiatrist, while delivering patient education and keeping clear records.

Key responsibilities

• Screen for risk factors in the diabetic foot and determine the corresponding risk level
• Recognise diabetic foot conditions and refer patients to the doctor/podiatrist for management
• Deliver education on diabetic foot care to patients and/or caregivers
• Provide clear documentation of the results of the diabetic foot screening
• Follow legal, ethical, professional, departmental and organisational policies, including good infection control practices
• Take part in activities that promote awareness of Podiatry

Required profile

• Higher Nitec with GCE 'N' or 'O' Level credits in English, Mathematics and Science
• WSQ Higher Certificate in Therapy Services is an advantage
• Willingness to work a 5-day week, travel to different polyclinics and work on Saturdays

• Able to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team

Required skills

• Good verbal and written communication in English and another language (Chinese, Malay or Tamil)
