Trade Operator – Operations Executive for Oil Trading

About the role

The company is an international oil trading house seeking an Operations Executive to manage end‑to‑end cargo and vessel activities across global waterborne operations. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will ensure safe, reliable, and efficient execution of shipments while coordinating with traders, charterers, inspectors, terminals, shipowners, agents, finance, compliance, and risk teams.

Key responsibilities

• Handle cargo nominations, vessel scheduling, and shipping documentation.
• Plan voyages, coordinate bunkering, and maintain operational records.
• Monitor and mitigate operational and contractual risks, including demurrage and claims.
• Support Letters of Credit processes and ensure timely settlement.
• Identify optimisation opportunities across the value chain and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
• Provide after‑office‑hours support when required.

Required profile

• Degree in Maritime Studies or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in cargo or shipping operations, preferably within an oil major or trading house.
• Strong communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment.
