Trainee Workshop Engineer

About the role

Pratt & Whitney, part of RTX, offers a Trainee Workshop Engineer programme in Singapore that prepares you to become a Workshop Engineer. The programme lasts 18 months internally or 24 months externally, combining structured theory and practical training with on-the-job training. Successful completion leads to an authorization/approval certificate.

Key responsibilities

• Perform engine disassembly, assembly, testing, inspection and repair according to approved technical data and aviation authority requirements.
• Solve technical issues and problems encountered in daily work.
• Lead and supervise a team of technicians, including assigning work and monitoring progress.
• Assist Cell Leaders and Managers in operations planning to meet production targets and corporate goals.
• Take part in production linearity projects, setup, housekeeping and other workshop activities.
• Maintain operations tooling and fixtures.
• Carry out SAP and Solumina transactions and modify work orders as needed.
• Support continuous improvement, environmental health and safety and quality projects.
• Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Diploma in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or another engineering discipline.
• Internal candidates must hold a valid certifying technician (CT) approval.
• Able to work rotating day and night shifts.
• Good analytical skills, teamwork and communication skills.

Required skills

• Preferred: proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP systems.
