Transaction Monitoring Analyst

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Transaction Monitoring Analyst to join our Financial Crime Compliance team. The role focuses on reviewing and analysing transaction alerts to detect suspicious activity related to money laundering, terrorist financing, fraud or other financial crimes, ensuring compliance with AML and CTF regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Review and analyse system‑generated alerts for potentially suspicious transactions.
• Conduct end‑to‑end investigations by gathering and analysing customer profiles, transactional data, and other relevant information.
• Determine whether alerts warrant escalation or can be closed with appropriate rationale.
• Prepare and document clear investigation findings in line with internal procedures and regulatory expectations.
• Perform second‑level authorising for alerts and provide feedback to analysts.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support ongoing monitoring and risk assessments.
• Recommend enhancements to monitoring rules based on emerging threats.
• Ensure timely completion of alerts, investigations, and tasks to meet regulatory and internal deadlines.
• Assist with monthly reporting to various committees.

Required profile

• Minimum bachelor’s degree or relevant professional qualification.
• ACAMS or other relevant AML/financial crime certification.
• At least 3 years of experience in banking or the financial industry with exposure to business, compliance or operations.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong analytical thinking.
