Vice President, Medical Affairs – Asia & Country Medical Director (Singapore)

About the role

Moderna is seeking a senior leader to shape its Medical Affairs strategy across Asia while directly overseeing the Singapore country medical function. The role combines regional vision with hands‑on execution to drive scientific excellence, stakeholder engagement and innovative vaccination initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement a regional Medical Affairs plan for infectious diseases, focusing on COVID‑19 and future vaccine programs.
• Build and lead multidisciplinary medical teams across Asia, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
• Engage healthcare authorities, payers and scientific communities to advance research and implementation strategies.
• Develop a roadmap for establishing local medical teams and processes for handling medical information requests.
• Lead Singapore’s Medical Affairs strategy, cultivating relationships with local clinicians, regulators and institutions.
• Support reimbursement submissions, procurement agreements and tender activities in Singapore.
• Collaborate with Commercial, Clinical Development, Real‑World Evidence and Market Access teams to align global and regional strategies.
• Represent Moderna in high‑profile industry forums, media interactions and external engagements.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in Medical Affairs within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sector.
• Deep understanding of infectious disease vaccines and the Asian healthcare landscape.
• Track record of building and managing high‑performing medical teams.
• Strong relationships with healthcare authorities, payers and scientific stakeholders in Asia, particularly Singapore.
• Excellent communication and strategic thinking skills.
