Vice President – Senior Project Manager (AI & Data)

About the role

Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) is seeking a Vice President‑level Senior Project Manager to lead high‑impact AI, Generative AI and Data initiatives across the region. You will be responsible for delivering complex programs on time, within scope and budget while ensuring compliance with MUFG governance, risk, regulatory and responsible AI standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end delivery of strategic AI, GenAI and Data programs from initiation through closure.
• Define and manage project scope, objectives, milestones, budgets and resource plans in partnership with business and technology stakeholders.
• Identify, assess and mitigate project risks, issues, dependencies and change requests.
• Serve as primary liaison for senior business stakeholders, technology leads, vendors and regional/head‑office counterparts.
• Establish and maintain project governance structures, steering committees and status reporting mechanisms.
• Ensure responsible AI principles—including model risk, ethics, data privacy, security and regulatory compliance—are embedded throughout the project lifecycle.
• Translate complex technical and data concepts into clear executive‑level communications.
• Manage project financials, forecast budgets and track variances.
• Lead vendor engagement and performance management to meet contractual and quality expectations.

Required profile

• Extensive experience delivering AI, GenAI and data analytics projects in a large, regulated organization.
• Strong knowledge of project governance, risk management and regulatory compliance frameworks.
• Proven ability to work with senior business and technology leaders across regions.
• Excellent communication skills for translating technical concepts to executive audiences.
