About the role
We are looking for a Vice President to lead tax compliance and strategy for corporate and institutional banking activities in Singapore. The role combines hands‑on compliance oversight with strategic advisory to support business initiatives and product development.
Key responsibilities
- Provide tax assistance for corporate and institutional banking businesses, focusing on Singapore operations.
- Collaborate with product, finance and business teams to deliver practical tax advice on transactions and new products.
- Oversee compliance obligations including corporate income tax, withholding tax, GST and transfer pricing, ensuring robust controls and documentation.
- Manage tax reporting, provisioning, effective tax rate analysis and coordinate month‑end closing and audit activities.
- Support Pillar Two and Domestic Minimum Top‑up Tax implementation, handling data collection, impact analysis and governance.
- Identify process simplification opportunities and drive sustainable adoption across stakeholders.
- Provide tax analysis and risk mitigation for business transformation projects.
- Lead audits and inspections, coordinate responses to tax authorities and develop resolution strategies.
- Assist with FATCA, CRS and QI reporting in partnership with relevant teams.
Required profile
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field with a professional accounting qualification.
- At least 10 years of professional tax experience, preferably within banks or financial institutions.
- Strong understanding of tax accounting concepts (current/deferred tax, provisioning, ETR drivers) and ability to work closely with finance teams.
- Working knowledge of OECD Pillar Two / Global Minimum Tax and Singapore DMTT, with capability to support compliance and data requirements.
- Deep insight into how tax impacts business operations, plus knowledge of FATCA and CRS.
- Proven stakeholder management, problem‑solving and commercial decision‑making skills.
