Web Backend Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Web Backend Engineer to design, develop and maintain the server‑side components of our website and top‑up platform. The role involves close collaboration with frontend developers and product teams to deliver reliable payment processing and internal management tools.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services, including integration with third‑party payment gateways and handling payment callbacks.
• Build internal GM management tools for player data queries, account suspension, and in‑game item distribution.
• Write and optimise SQL queries for operational reporting such as daily revenue and new user metrics, and monitor data anomalies.
• Maintain backend architecture, enforce namespace standards and ensure clean, maintainable code.

Required profile

• At least 3 years of professional experience developing in PHP.
• Strong understanding of coding standards (PSR‑4) and namespace usage.
• Experience with Laravel or ThinkPHP 6+ and ability to work within existing codebases.
• Solid SQL skills, including multi‑table queries and index optimisation, especially for financial data.
• Familiarity with Redis and concepts of concurrency control and idempotency for payment APIs.
• Ability to read basic frontend code and communicate effectively in English; Mandarin is a plus.
