Workplace Safety & Health Officer (WSHO) – Construction

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Workplace Safety & Health Officer (WSHO) to lead safety initiatives on construction sites across Singapore. You will ensure compliance with the WSH Act and MOM regulations while fostering a strong safety culture.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, implement and manage WSH management systems and safety programmes on site.
• Conduct and review risk assessments, MSRAs and safe work procedures.
• Perform regular site inspections, safety audits and hazard identification.
• Investigate incidents, near‑misses and non‑compliance issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Monitor and enforce compliance with the WSH Act, MOM regulations and project safety requirements.
• Prepare and present monthly safety performance reports and statistics.
• Liaise with authorities such as MOM, NEA, PUB and SP Group as required.
• Lead, guide and coach the site safety team and supervisors.
• Promote a strong safety culture across all project levels.

Required profile

• Registered WSHO with MOM (Singapore).
• Minimum 5 years of WSH experience in building construction projects.
• Experience with an A1 main contractor is advantageous.
• Familiarity with local authority requirements and building‑project compliance standards.
• Strong knowledge of the WSH Act, risk management and construction safety practices.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
