Accountant – Marine & Oil & Gas

About the role

We are looking for an Accountant to manage the day‑to‑day financial administration of a portfolio of smaller, less complex contracts and entities within the marine and oil & gas sector. You will ensure accurate month‑end closings, produce management information and support the finance team in delivering reliable financial data.

Key responsibilities

• Handle general ledger activities, monthly closing, intercompany reconciliations and balance‑sheet preparation for assigned contracts/entities.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, management reports, budgets and forecasts.
• Ensure compliance through tax filings, annual financial statements, audit participation and fixed‑asset valuation/depreciation.
• Support accounts payable by processing invoices, monitoring approvals, reconciling vendor statements and resolving queries.
• Maintain ERP financial master data and contribute to finance projects aimed at process optimisation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accountancy or Commerce.
• Minimum three years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in the marine or oil & gas industry.
• Experience managing multiple contracts or entities.
• Professional attitude with an entrepreneurial and team‑player mindset.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of general ledger, month‑end close and intercompany reconciliation processes.
• Proficiency in preparing financial statements, budgets and forecasts.
• Understanding of tax compliance, audit procedures and fixed‑asset accounting.
• Experience with accounts payable processing and vendor statement reconciliation.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and financial master‑data maintenance.
