Head of Supply Chain Management

About the role

We are seeking a senior leader to oversee the end‑to‑end supply chain for rail and light rapid transit systems, ensuring the availability of spares, tools, equipment and services required for maintenance and operation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead procurement of spares, tools, equipment, goods and services for rail and light rapid transit maintenance.
• Manage inventory, warehousing and logistics to guarantee material availability, accuracy and custodianship.
• Oversee sourcing, supplier management, obsolescence monitoring and vendor performance evaluation.
• Establish and enforce procurement policies, controls and tender processes in line with governance and audit requirements.
• Drive cost optimisation through strategic sourcing, negotiations and market analysis.
• Handle end‑to‑end purchasing operations, including tenders, quotations, invoice matching and payments.
• Maintain material catalogue and digital platforms to ensure data integrity and process efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
• Oversee fleet/resource management, tracking utilisation and maintenance of operational vehicles.
• Monitor performance, provide management reporting and drive continuous improvement across procurement, inventory and logistics functions.

Required profile

• Recognised degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in contract and/or supplies management.
• Preferably at least 7 years of experience in the railway industry.
• Strong negotiating, planning, organising and logistics management capabilities.
• Good leadership, interpersonal and team‑player skills.
• Resourceful, self‑motivated and results‑oriented.
