Legal Counsel – APAC Growth & Investment

About the role

We are seeking a Legal Counsel to lead legal matters across APAC growth and investment activities. The role will act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership while supporting a fast‑moving, international trading and investment business.

Key responsibilities

• Provide practical, commercially focused legal advice to senior management and business stakeholders.
• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements and strategic contracts.
• Support commodities trading activities, including trading, logistics, finance and operational documentation.
• Lead legal workstreams for mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, investments and restructuring projects.
• Advise on banking, financing, fundraising and capital‑markets transactions.
• Manage disputes, arbitration matters and external counsel across multiple jurisdictions.
• Drive governance, compliance and risk‑management initiatives and support board‑related matters.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer admitted to practice in a recognised jurisdiction.
• Minimum 3+ years post‑qualification experience in a leading law firm and/or in‑house environment.
• Strong experience in corporate transactions, including drafting and negotiating transaction documents.
• Exposure to at least two of the following areas: M&A, fundraising, capital markets, banking & finance, or commercial disputes.
• Experience advising on complex commercial agreements and business transactions.
• Ability to assess legal risks pragmatically and provide commercially balanced recommendations.
• Strong stakeholder‑management skills with confidence to engage senior business leaders.
• Comfortable operating independently in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.
